Online Mechanical Engineering Force Request
There are 4 steps you must complete in order to be considered for a MEEN course
force request (please note that your force request will not be considered until
all 4 steps have been completed):
- Generate a copy of your Degree Audit and print. Degree Audits are located at the
following web site:
https://myrecord.tamu.edu/
- Using your Degree Audit, complete the on-line Curriculum Sheet form and print.
- There must be a selection from the pull down menu for each course.
- If you have already taken the course, indicate the grade earned (only the most recent grade if multiple attempts).
- If you have not yet completed a course, indicate when it will be completed (including the current semester). Semester designations follow the code: 08a=Spring 2008; 08b=Summer 2008; 08c=Fall 2008; IP=In Progress
- Complete one of the following Curriculum Sheets (based on your catalog assignment):
- Submit an on-line force request (this step must be repeated if you need multiple
courses).
- Return the Curriculum Sheet to the Mechanical Engineering Advising Office, Room
200 ENPH
After the Mechanical Engineering Advising Office receives your Online Force Request
and Curriculum Sheet, a forcing decision will be based on the following criteria:
- Seat availability
- Prerequisite compliance (e.g. you will not be forced into MEEN 344 if you have
not completed MEEN 221 and 315 with grades of "C" or better). You must follow the current
prerequisites which are listed at
http://courses.tamu.edu/
- Classification
- Date and time your Degree Plan and Degree Audit are received in the Mechanical Engineering
Advising Office
The Mechanical Engineering Advising Office will begin forcing students into MEEN
courses on the first day of open registration, April 28, 2008. (University procedures
do not allow Departments to add courses to a student's schedule until after the
last day of open registration. Hence, there will be a delay between the time you
request a seat and its appearance on your schedule.)
You will be notified by email (sent to your official NEO email account) once your
request has been processed (on or after April 28, 2008).
If the course does not appear on your student records at least one week before the
first day of class, please contact the Mechanical Engineering Advising Office at
979-845-1252.
